I'M A PIG!
By Jim Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

Chorus
I'm a pig, and I'm proud
I am big, I am brass, I am loud.
I'm a pig, I'm a swine
I am brash, I am bold, I'm divine!

Verse 1
I'm a pig, so petite
And a sow's life is ever so sweet
I'm a pig, so Rubenesque
And it's something I don't feel is grotesque.

[Chorus]

Verse 2
I'm a pig, so rotund
And every day a better pig I become
I'm a pig, and I assert
That from time to time I lounge in the dirt.

[Chorus]

Verse 3
I'm a pig, and so I say
I prefer porcine life in every way
I'm a pig, and will not blush
I love life muddy and mushy and lush!

[Chorus]

THE THINGS I SHOULD HAVE SEEN
By Jim Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

Verse 1
I should have seen the smiles
That lit the darkened skies
I should have seen the beauty
Lighting up their eyes.

I should have seen the friendship
And what it truly means
I can see more clearly now
The things I should have seen.

Verse 2
I should have seen the gestures
That blossomed from the heart
I should have seen the tenderness
They'd shown me from the start.

I should have seen the beauty
I'd embraced in all my dreams
I can see more clearly now
The things I should have seen.

Verse 3
I want to feel their forgiveness
Upon a summer wind
I want to hear their laughter
So I can see their smiles again.

I want the second chance
To show what friendship means
For I now can see
The things I should have seen.

BRAND NEW SONG
By Jim Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

Verse 1
You...You've got a good thing going
The breeze is blowing your way
The birds are a winging
The church bells are ringing
And a new day's singing your praise.

Chorus
They say it's darkest before the dawn
You've got to keep on, keeping on
You know the morning's gonna come along
It's gonna sing you a brand new song.

Verse 2
You...You've got a good thing going
The clouds are rolling away
The morning's a dawning
The blue bird's a calling
And the sun's bestowed a new day.

[Repeat chorus]

CHESTNUT RIDGE (Reprise)
By Jim Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

Verse 1
We're so glad you stopped on by
To share a song in the morning sky
And hear the birds sing in reply!
On Chestnut Ridge.

Verse 2
We're so glad you came along
Excuse us, we don't mean to fawn
But with friends like you we can't go wrong!
Of Chestnut Ridge.

Chorus
Chestnut, Chestnut Ridge
Where the whippoor wills
And the buttercup spills
The dew drops from the night.

Chestnut, Chestnut Ridge
Where the dragon flies
In the morning skies
Then kite tails out of sight.

Verse 3
We're so glad you happened past
Our time together went so fast
But the memories will always last!
Of Chestnut Ridge.

Verse 4
We're so glad you stopped on in
For a slice of smile and a glass of grin
We hope y'all stop back again!
To Chestnut Ridge.

Chorus
Chestnut, Chestnut Ridge
Where the meadow larks
And the dogwood barks
Although it never bites

Chestnut, Chestnut Ridge
Where the butterflies
In the morning skies
Then flutters out of sight.

COME SIT BESIDE ME
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

Verse 1
Come sit here beside me
Come tell me about your day.
Let’s keep a little company
Let’s find some time to play.
There’s so many things I want to say
Things I can’t explain away today.

Chorus
Can I warm my heart beside you for a while?
Can I sit beside the sunshine of your smile?
Maybe we can figure out
The things that we don’t know about.
Come sit here beside me.

Verse 2
Come sit here beside me
How was school today?
Come read me a story
Is Dr. Seuss okay?
What ice cream should we get tonight?
Did you get a chance to ride your bike today?

[Chorus]

Verse 3
Come walk here beside me
Let’s enjoy the day.
Do you want to go out hiking?
Or to the park and play?
Whatever games you want to play
I’m good for any games you play today.

[Chorus]

Verse 4
Come stand here beside me
Gee, how big you’ve grown.
You know before you know it
You’ll be driving me back home.
Don’t grow too fast let’s not look past
The time we have to share with us today.

[Chorus]

ANYONE CAN DANCE
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This is a song we wrote about dancing, moving and grooving to
the music and feeling good. Often times people feel too shy to dance, as if
everyone were watching them. But that doesn’t have to be the case. Watch
little children as they instinctively dance to the music they hear. It’s
almost a primal part of who we are. We hear music and we want to move to it.
And anyone can do so.

Chorus
Anyone can dance
Everyone can dance
Anyone can shake-shake-skake
From Tokyo to France.

Anyone can sing
And everyone can dance
Everyone just shake your thing…

Verse 1
There are some who like to limbo
There are those who like to leap
There are even them who disco
When jumping from their seat.

There are those who hokey-pokey
There are them who do the twist
There are some who do the Diddly
And it goes like this…

[Chorus with ‘from Istanbul to France’]

Verse 2
There are some who never dance
They’re simply just too shy
They want to, but they can’t
They’re much too scared to try.

They think that someone’s watching
They might not dance so well
So they just sit and listen
In their little turtle shell.

[Chorus with ‘from Reyjkavik to France’]

Verse 3
All you need to do
Is close your eyes and move
Then no one else is watching
So go ahead and groove.

Then each and every day
When you get the chance
Just throw the shy away
‘Cause anyone can dance.

[Chorus with ‘from Singapore to France’]

Verse 4
Some can move their arms
While others tap their toes
There’s some so cool they just bob their heads
While others do-si-do.

So close your eyes and listen
Let the music move your hips
Groove along to whatever song
Snap your finger tips.

Bridge
‘Cause anyone can snap
Anyone can tap
Anyone can shake
Anyone can clap.

Anyone can clap
Anyone can clap
Anyone can clap
Everyone can dance!

Final Chorus
Anyone can dance
Everyone can dance
The music makes you shake your shake
Like there’s feathers in your pants.

Like feathers in your pants
Everyone can dance
With feathers in your pants
Anyone can dance.
With feathers in your pants
Everyone can dance
With feathers in your pants
Anyone can dance…

PROCRASTINATION/OTTO THE OTTER
By Lou Ruggiero, James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This is the story of Otto the Otter, a doddering otter who
dawdles and plodders when he oughtter be doing his chores. In a word,
Otto…procrastinates. What is procrastination?

Procrastination means putting off chores you have to do in the hope that
someone else’ll do ‘em. Procrastination: to put off doing something
unpleasant or burdensome until a future time - a time hopefully that will
never come. A day, just like tomorrow.

The problem with procrastination, however, is that it makes everything GROW
BIGGER. Procrastination makes a teeny chore become a MONSTER CHORE! An
itty-bitty witto task becomes an ever-growing, always-looming, big, fat
elephantine chore that seems — just too hard to do.

That’s what procrastination does. It makes the little, enormous, the
quick-and-easy, prolonged and plodding. And it usually ends with the most
saddest of situations – a time-out.

This is a song about Otto the Otter – The Procrastin-otter.

Prelude
Procrastination
I oughtter begin
Procrastination
I’d rather just swim

Procrastination
There’s chores to be done
Procrastination
But I’d rather have fun.

Verse 1
Otto the Otter, you oughtta get outta the water – Yes you oughtter
Otto the Otter, you oughtta get outta the water – Yes you oughtter
You have chores to do – Just do it
Did you clean your room? – Get to it
When your chores are done
You can have your fun
Just do it.

Verse 2
I’m Otto the Otter, I wanna just float in the water – Can’t be bothered
Otto the Otter, clean up your room says my motter – Can’t be bottered
I don’t like chores – Just do ‘em
Chores are a bore – Get through ‘em
When your chores are done
You can go have fun
Just do it.

Otto the Otter didn’t clean up like he oughtter – Now he’s fodder
Otto the Otter didn’t pitch in like the others – He’s in hot water
He’s in time-out – It’s been all summer
He can’t go out – What a bummer
If he’d done his chores
He could be outdoors
Having fun
Out in the sun
Just do it.

Verse 4
Otto the Otter I see that you’re back in the water – Floating otter
Otto the Otter cleans up his room like he oughtter – Now he bodders
My work’s all done – He got to it
I’m having fun – He got through it
My stuff’s put away
Now I play all day
I don’t hesitate
I don’t delegate
I don’t deliberate
I don’t procrastinate
I cooperate
I motivate
My life is great!
Just do it.

SHINY BLUE
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: Here’s a song about a town called Flippy-Floppy located in the
land of Shiny Blue, a place where everyone makes the best of things, even
though it rains almost all the time. The citizens of Shiny Blue find a
reason to celebrate no matter what, dancing through puddles with ‘an
attitude of gratitude, grateful for another new day.

Verse 1
In the town of Flippy-Floppy
There’s a little rum-tum, too
And a whole lot of rubadub
In the land of Shiny Blue
In the land of Shiny Blue.

Say good day to Rum-Tum-Tee
Tip your hat to Shiny Blue
Flippy-Floppy
Slippy-Sloppy
Please to meet you, too
In the land of Shiny Blue.

Chorus
They sing, Rum-tilly-pum-tilly come what may
Rum-tilly-pum in the pouring rain
Rum-tilly-pum ‘till the break of day
Rum-tilly-pum all day.
In the land of Shiny Blue.

Verse 2
In the town of Flippy-Floppy
It almost always rains
You’re not in trouble if you dance through puddles
Your shoes will dry off again
In the land of Shiny Blue.

Say good day to Rum-Tum-Tee
Let’s go dancing in the rain
You’re not in trouble if you dance through puddles
Your shoes will dry off again
In the land of Shiny Blue.

[Chorus]

Verse 3
In the town of Flippy-Floppy
There’s an awesome attitude
There are no strangers, only neighbors
Please to meet you, too
In the land of Shiny Blue.

In Shiny Blue there are no worries
Just smiling gratitude
No one’s rude or in a hurry
Hope to see you soon
In the land of Shiny Blue.

IT’S EASY
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This next song is a number we wrote about following
directions, something that’s easy enough to do, yet something people for
some reason often avoid doing. And we’ve used the alphabet – you remember
the alphabet – to illustrate that following directions is as easy as A-B-C.

Put the A peg in the B slot
Then connect to C and D
Now take a look at what you’ve got
And the way it ought to be.

Fit lever E with lever F
Then clamp to G and H
Then tighten the screw yet don’t forget to
Attach I, J and K.

The clasp marked L should hitch to M
Which then should hitch to N
Wait — where was I? No go back.
No, wait, let’s start again.

The clasp marked L should hitch to M
Then N to O and P
Then tighten the screws marked Q and R
With the bolts marked S and T.

Now we’re almost finished
Connect hinge U and V
To the tress marked W
Then attach X, Y and Z.

There’s a logical progression
When following directions
You don’t need much recollection
Just look at the directions

It’s as easy as A-B-C
1-2-3
Do-Re-Mi
It’s easy.

I IMAGINE YOU
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This song is about when friends have to say goodbye for
whatever reason. We all have people who mean a great deal to us, whom we
love very much, but for one reason or another people to whom we have to say
goodbye. Still, though friendships sail, friends can remain pals forever, if
only through our memory and imagination.

Chorus
Friends part ways, though hope they’ll come together
Friendships sail, but we’ll stay friends forever
Pals forever…

There are days when I miss you more than ever
I imagine the day we’ll be together
I imagine you and me.

Verse 1
There are times when friends must bid farewell
And go their separate ways
Down different paths toward different shores
Through different nights and days.

[Chorus]

Verse 2
Starfish shores and sun-splashed seas
Pockets full of blue
The kites that fly in the sunshine sky
Carry my love to you.
I imagine a hillside afternoon
I imagine you.

[Chorus]

Verse 3
The fireflies in the twilight skies
Sing a sunset tune
I see the star you dream upon
Behind the crescent moon.
I send my wish from me to you
I hope to see you soon.

[Chorus]

YOUR GIFT IS YOUR PRESENCE
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This next song is about simply being with someone and the gift
that is your presence. That all the glitzy toys and gigantic things that we
give each other as tokens of our love and friendship can never replace the
joy of simply being together.

Chorus
Your gift is your presence
Your present is you
Your smile and your laughter
The things that you do
That make each day special
And each night time, too
Your gift is your presence
Your present is you.

Verse 1
I don’t need humngous
Or the glitzy new-improved
I don’t need to supersize
About your size’ll do
I don’t need a Floby
Or a pair of blue suede shoes
I just want to spend some time with you.

[Chorus]

Verse 2
There’s no room for a Chia pet
On the window sill
I have a pocket fisherman
And three George Foreman grills
I don’t need a neck-tie
I only wear the two
I just want to spend some time with you.

Bridge
Your gift is your voice
Reading to me
The stories you tell
About the pictures you see
Your own little world is so special to me
Your gift is your presence
You’re all that I need.

[Chorus]

S’IL VOUS PLAIT
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This is a song we wrote without having much of a song to
write. We wanted to emphasize the courtesy of simply saying ‘Please’ and
‘Thank you’ when dealing with other people. If you ask for something, say
‘please’. If it’s given to you, punctuate it with a ‘thank you. To write the
song, we employed three different languages for saying ‘If you please’ and
‘Thank you.’ Bitte shoën (which is German) por favor (which is Spanish),
s’il vous plait (which is French). Likewise, Dankeshoën, gracias, merci beau
coup. ’ It’s not very hard to do and your friends will thank you too…

Verse 1
There was a song we wished to write
But couldn’t get the words quite right
So we set it down and said goodnight
But here’s the chorus anyway.

Chorus 1
Can’t you please say please s’il vous plait
Can’t you just say please, for it will pave your way
It’s the key to every door
You’ll be invited in for more
Bitte shoën, por favor, s’il vous plait

Verse 2
We like the notion nonetheless
About simply being courteous
And really want to give our best
So here’s the best that we could do

Chorus 2
Can’t you please say thank you when you’re through
DankeshoËn, gracias, merci beau coup
It’s not very hard to do and your friends will thank you too
Dankeshoën, gracias, merci beau coup

Verse 3
Other than that, there’s not much there
Not much of a song, but to be fair
It’s a simple message we have to share
So here’s the chorus once again.

Chorus 1
Can’t you please say please s’il vous plait
Can’t you just say please, for it will pave your way
It’s the key to every door
You’ll be invited in for more
Bitte shoën, por favor, s’il vous plait

Chorus 2
Can’t you please say thank you when you’re through
Dankeshoën, gracias, merci beau coup
It’s not very hard to do and your friends will thank you too
Dankeshoën, gracias, merci beau coup

A LITTLE SPACE
By James Tigue and Matthew K. Weiland

INTRODUCTION: This next song is for all those mothers and fathers, big
brothers and sisters, who from time-to-time feel the walls closing in as the
little friends in their lives clamor for more attention.

Chorus
Hey my little friend
I love you don’t you know
But I need a little space right now
A little time to be alone

I need to catch my breath
And make my headache go away
I need a little space right now
So won’t you go outside and play.

Verse 1
I have a raging migraine
My sciatic’s really sore
I’ll be there in a minute
I just walked through the door

I’ve been in gridlock traffic
It’s been a hard-day’s flight
I need a little time alone
Before dealing with the night.

[Chorus]

Verse 2
Sometimes I’m overheating
Sometimes I’m freaking out
Could you not hang on my arm like that
I didn’t mean to shout

I would never say to you
Get out of my face
But I will say in a nicer voice
I just need a little space.

[Chorus]

Verse 3
Look my little friend
I need a short reprieve
I’m talking on the phone right now
Please quit hanging on my sleeve

I’ll be with you shortly
I heard you once before
Could you ask the dog to quit barking?
And please don’t slam the door.

[Chorus]
